Current Positions Available

Massage Therapist

We are looking for an Oregon Licensed Massage Therapist for a part-time independent contractor position to work with our patients. Individualized patient sessions will usually last up to 30 minutes. Reimbursement will be based on units of therapy provided at a rate that reflects your experience.

Condition For Life is a chiropractic rehabilitation clinic utilizing a broad spectrum of active therapeutic procedures that encompass techniques as diverse as PNF techniques, Janda reactivation techniques, active and passive muscle and fascia release techniques, PRI Repositioning, movement retraining, various neuromuscular reeducation protocols, and patient specific strength and conditioning.  We are looking to build a long term relationship with a clinically oriented therapist who wants to expand their knowledge base, is creative, and who takes initiative to investigate new directions of patient care. We want a therapist who can apply directions from the doctor; provide feedback about their observations of patients' conditions; has a positive and encouraging spirit; and who can interact with clinic staff to provide appropriate, specific and efficient patient care.

Please drop off your resume at our clinic on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

Something To Consider:

Spinal Load and Back Exercies

Intensity of spinal exercises can be measured as muscle loading and spinal loading such as spinal compression and spinal shear forces. (Axler, McGill 1997) Ideal exercises have a high ratio of muscle challenge to spinal load. Analyses of common exercises prescribed for low back pain give surprising information. For instance, spinal load is not different during sit-ups with knees bent or straight. In either case, the load is extremely high (over 3000N) and should not be prescribed in the low back recovering population! (Axler, McGill 1997; McGill 1995). There are safer back exercises. Safe back exercises emphasizing endurance training of key spinal stabilizers have produced very successful results with correcting spinal imbalances. (Hides et al., 1996; McGill 1998; Liebenson 1999; Timm et al., 1994; O'Sullivan et al., 1997).
